Dragging Anna to Texas

One of the great things about travel nursing is making new friends. However, it is even better if you can drag an old friend along!
Anna and Zeek

After a lot of talking and pushing Anna decided to come to Texas. Unfortunately she was not able to get an assignment at same hospital but one close enough for her to live in same apartment complex. Just a 2 min. walk from my door to hers!
I flew to Raleigh to make the driving trip back with Anna and Zeek.

That first day was a long one. I flew to RDU in the morning, Anna picked me up at noon at the airport and we headed on our adventure. We were ready for sleep by the time we stopped that night!

We welcomed Alabama too!
Beautiful sunset

Finally Texas!!
I was a little excited, only 2 more hours to go from this point.

Zeek thought it would never end. He was such a good rider!

Whoop whoop we made it to Dallas!!!

We have had a few adventures since Anna came. A bonus for us being here is that we get to be with another NC nurse. It was crazy weird that the assignment I got was at the very same hospital that a previous WakeMed nurse had gone back to work at in November. Neither one of us knew until I contacted him after I accepted the assignment. He helped me get Anna here. Thanks Chris!!!

Chris
We were "throwing" our sign before the game.

Had a good but chilly night at Rangers game. Rangers forgot to play
but we got to eat all we wanted...can you say sick?

 Anna and Kathryn
were trying to be one
with the animals
when we went to
The Fossil Rim Center.

"Hey Lady I hear you have some pretzels?"

Anna feeding the animals illegal food!

Happily after Anna finished her assignment in Arlington she got one at Medical City with me! She did change apartments but is still in the same complex area. It has been nice because we get to work and ride together. She has fit right in at Medical City and the staff love her! They are just fooled by the sweet exterior (haha). Anna has had some trials while here and I am glad David and I have been here to help. She welcomed a new car (not planned) and had to make a heart breaking decision to help Zeek go to doggie heaven.
Babysitting Zeek while Anna makes a trip home.
RIP little buddy.

Thanks for coming to Texas to work and play! I know you have missed your family but hope that David and I helped fill the gap a little bit. Oh and a BIG thank you for being my Wings Stop buddy :)
We still have another adventure at the Texas State Fair before we get out of here in a week!!

Thanks my friend for helping make this a great assignment! Hope we get to do more assignments together. Maybe we can drag Chris along next time........
